Random books I read ep。 1 : my mom got this at Costco for my sister to read and though I'm not in middle school, I really enjoyed it too。 I'm definitely using this as a resource because I've been wanting to learn Python for a while。 Random books I read ep。 1 : my mom got this at Costco for my sister to read and though I'm not in middle school, I really enjoyed it too。 I'm definitely using this as a resource because I've been wanting to learn Python for a while。 。。。more

With everything between highlighted vocabulary words, definitions, and charts, I'd say this book is perfect if you would like to start coding or learning about computer science。 It covers all the basics and major points of Scratch, Python and web development。 Each chapter also has a 'Check Your Knowledge' section with questions about the chapter to see whether or not you have understood what you have learnt, with the answers in the next page。The book manages to explain coding and computer scienc With everything between highlighted vocabulary words, definitions, and charts, I'd say this book is perfect if you would like to start coding or learning about computer science。 It covers all the basics and major points of Scratch, Python and web development。 Each chapter also has a 'Check Your Knowledge' section with questions about the chapter to see whether or not you have understood what you have learnt, with the answers in the next page。The book manages to explain coding and computer science in a simple way, and can make you understand the definitions of words and a lot more efficiently。 。。。more

I honestly have to say that if you ever wanted to learn coding or anything to do with computer science, well don't worry about being frustrated to find out how to begin! I wish I had this book when I wanted to learn computer science。 The reason the book, Everything You Need to Ace Computer Science and Coding in One Big Fat Notebook by Workman Publishing and Grant Smith is so wonderful, is because it has every single thing you want to know about coding, data, algorithms, web development, software I honestly have to say that if you ever wanted to learn coding or anything to do with computer science, well don't worry about being frustrated to find out how to begin! I wish I had this book when I wanted to learn computer science。 The reason the book, Everything You Need to Ace Computer Science and Coding in One Big Fat Notebook by Workman Publishing and Grant Smith is so wonderful, is because it has every single thing you want to know about coding, data, algorithms, web development, software engineer, and so much more! This is one huge book! However, it's short and huge like a dictionary, but not super pocket size。 So you are definitely going to be covered with all the knowledge of computer science at the level of middle school reading and learning。 However, even for a child, this is perfect, a middle schooler will enjoy this book! It's bright in color and full of easy to understand the text and beautifully illustrated designs。 So much more attractive than many others on the market! Especially, the ones the adults have to use!For an adult, this is quite fun to use, especially for myself! I find the simplicity in the children style books to be wonderful。 So if you need to teach a new subject, build-up a new skill, or learn something for your own reasons。 Well, this really is an excellent aid! It looks even like a notebook, so that doesn't lie when it mentions that in the title。What I find super awesome about this book is that I am so much in love with coding and this book covers the basics of a few programs, getting the reader a head start on Python, HTML with some CSS, and Scratch。 I mean there is much more to those lessons when you work through each of those chapters。 So you can know that you'll get to understand each program separately and not be confused by so many in one section。 Additionally, those who have no idea about computer science can learn what it means and what it's all about。 It's even a great way to introduce something new that might spark interest in future careers! As mentioned above, I love that it has these wonderful illustrations which make it easy to understand。 There are charts, examples and so much practicing that can really increase the brainpower and allow the stuff to sink in。 That is what makes a great skill book, one that teaches and tests your knowledge。I feel I could go on and on about this book。 It's just magnificent! So to keep from giving away all the information you can read inside, I want to end with, this being the easiest way to learn and understand computer science。 You won't find anything so interesting to look at and something that won't cause you to lose attention while reading and working out the problems。 Plus, it really puts you in the computer seat and makes you want to try each of the different wonderful things you can do with your computer。 "I have been given a free copy of the book in exchange for my honest opinion and review" 。。。more

For me, it taught me valuable ways to explain coding to my middle schoolers and for my daughter, it made learning coding elements even more fun。 Combining this book with our homeschool curriculum with code。org has made for some amazing learning experiences! 。。。more
